Tannery Industry
In the tannery industry, cold rooms for storing raw hides and skins pre- and post-salting, must have special robustness characteristics, particularly with respect to corrosion (evaporators in stainless steel or with cataphoresis coating).
The humidity inside the cold room must be kept at a high level, preferably with water defrosting and possibly with the installation of humidifiers to prevent the hides from dropping in weight.
Another application is the use of chillers for cooling the hides drying vacuum floors (often combined with hot water recovery).
